Hey yall hey! I know it’s been a minute so I wanted to drop in and rap to you for a bit. As we all know, you can’t wait on any and everyone to come and travel with us right, so we’re left to travel solo. On the other side of that, many of you are hella scared to travel solo, and I get it. I totally understand why. So I wanted to drop a few helpful tips to boost and make your solo travel experience a good one.
The Local Visitors Center
The local visitors center or the tourist information center provides visitors t with information on the area’s attractions, lodgings, maps, and other items relevant to tourism. The information provided is free and the locals are the best ones to rely on when it comes to recommendations on the what to do and where to eat of their area. (P.S. many of the pamphlets have coupons in it to attractions and local restaurants in the area).
U.S. Department of State Site
This website is crucial when planning international travel! It provides at your fingertips, useful information about the country you’re considering traveling to such as crime rating, currency info, and vaccination information. What is very important for travelers to know is how many blank pages one should have available for the country they’re vising. I not, that country will deny you entry. Check out the website here.
Shoot My Travel
When considering traveling solo, many people ask “who’s going to take my photos?” Well, this is a damn good question and you have several ways to play this. For example:
You can try a selfie stick
Bring your handy tripod and Bluetooth remote
Or hire someone to follow you around and take your photos!
Now I must admit, I am a fan of all three. But having someone else take your photos for you is CLUTCH! So clutch that I am putting you on to my folks over at Shoot My Travel
What I love about them is that they have this huge, mega database of photographers all over the world. Waiting for you to hire them so they can take all of your precious moments! Be sure to use my discount code of ESCAPE30
Take A Hotel Card
In the event you’re traveling to a destination where they could be a strong language barrier, be sure to take a few of the hotel business cards. Why you ask? Well for example, lets say you need a taxi or something to get back to your place of lodging. The taxi pulls up and asks where you need to go, you can whip out that hotel card and show them exactly where you’re trying to get to.
Group Travel
Last but not least, you can travel solo with other travelers on a group trip! Many solo travelers utilize this because it gives them a sense of companionship with like minded wanderlusters. You can find many group trips via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. What’s awesome about group trips is that all of the hard work of planning, pricing, and itinerary building is already done for you. You just have to pack your shish and go! If that sounds like your vibe, then be sure to click here and join one of our group escapes today! The Noire Escapes family would love to have you!
